A Time To Dance!

For Family Home Evening this past week...we studied Ecclesiastes 3.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

   A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

   A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

   A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

This was just one of those days that it needed to be short and snappy.  Our time for reverence was only going to last so long.....so here's a sneak peak of our activity for the night!!!  They did this for an hour!  Ha!

Cheese!

Here I come to save the day!

This is today's version of Super Braydon!

Garron finally got a crib...bless his heart. He was way too big for the little cradle he has been in. Every time he rolled over he would hit the rails. I spotted this crib on craigslist and when I went to look at it, the lady just gave it to me...bed and mattress...free! I can afford that any day! What a blessing to stumble upon generous people!  He had fun spinning around in circles!

Trick or Treat!

May I introduce our little "tricks" for the year! We had a ward trunk or treat in Lubbock on Thursday. We had fun with all of our friends... then when we got home, we had our own little Halloween party for supper with black lights, and fun food, decorations and clothes. Our milk was even glow in the dark! Fun, Fun!

On Saturday, we went trick or treating in Childress...how could we not?!? We love to be with our family. We miss them. (We do not miss the allergies in Childress that come along with this time of year. Christopher and I were miserable the whole time.) Childress does this great thing where all of the businesses downtown hand out candy...no driving all around town, hopping in and out of cars...it's all in one spot and it's safe and the kids love it! Mario and Luigi (aka Kacy and Hannah) caught Kaywen off guard! That's what family is for, right? They have so much fun when we all get together. Kaywen misses all of her cousins. Oh the love!

And this...is the whole crew! (All of them except for our sweet little Owen...we missed having him for Halloween weekend, but that's a bit too far for him to drive to go trick or treating!) We looked like a mob walking down the street. It was so hot...they got tired in a hurry!

Mountain Trip

We were recently treated to a weekend in the New Mexico mountains. My parents were so gracious to take us there and put us up in a beautiful cabin. We got to spend time in a place where my kids have never been before, and we had grandparents, Taylor, and Popoo to visit with! It was so nice to go somewhere that it was cool! We had a wonderful weekend away from the normal day to day routine.

The boys were on a bear hunt the whole time. The bear hunt that I went on just almost lasted too long! I'm not a big fan of hiking. We let the kids lead the way. They were certain that there had to be a bear in that forest somewhere!

Braydon with his sling shot...aimed right toward the cabin! The whole back side of it was huge glass windows...Yikes!

Little mountain man Afton with his stick and a rock. They were serious about some hunting!
Garron loves his Grandpa...what a pair!

My little Garron is not so little anymore!

Garron has completely changed his demeanor in the past few months! Whole new baby! He even sleeps! Yea for me! For the most part he is a very happy little boy now! He needed a new diet, a pillow and some PJ's and now he's good to go! He has just started laughing out loud over the past few weeks. He is so ticklish! He cracks up when I change his clothes, his diaper, pick him up....he's funny! He is rolling over back and forth. Bath time is the greatest...he wiggles and squeals and loves every minute!

He still has long blonde hair and blue eyes. Go figure! He is my beautiful little boy...and he is FAT!

He is also my first thumb sucker. I hate that...I think it is disgusting when kids suck their thumb! But so far he only does it when he is really tired and he is having to occupy himself...so I can handle that. On the bright side, no pacifier for the first time in years!

Corn Maze

For one of our field trips, we all went to the corn maze! They had a special "homeschool" day, so we were able to take the entire family for $6. We had lots of fun. The kids were all so excited to be there, especially Braydon...he is our little maze guru! He can sit and do mazes all day! We were also able to meet several friends there, so that made it even more fun!

We just let the kids go. They were so sure that they had everything under control! Needless to say we went way far off to the back of the field, so finding our way back was great fun. Then when we finally got out...or so I thought...we were only at the half way point! Garron and I sat the last half out and had a snack while the rest went ahead. We saw animals, shot a corn launcher, and rode a tractor train and even got a snow cone!

This is at the finish, when they were all worn out. That is the actual maze on the board. They basically covered every inch! They were proud of themselves though! Whew!
